Maureen Chung is a retired pastor whose present calling from God is to build up His church without walls. Her ministry is to write devotional materials in English and Chinese, and present videos on YouTube or by print, sharing God’s revelation of Biblical truth with Christians and seekers alike.
In her devotional writings, she tries to stay true to the historical and theological backgrounds of the scripture text. God spoke to the people in history, and the hearers understood God’s message in their cultural context. Transporting the gist of their understanding to the current situation, she applies the teaching to our times. In this way, God speaks to her personally. Thus, she has revealed much of her life to her readers. From being born into a Christian home in British Hong Kong, to being educated in a Christian school, to working first as a computer programmer analyst for over 10 years in her adopted country Canada, to being called into full time pastoring for 37 years, to her full retirement in March 2022, God’s goodness has been running after her. Her greatest joy is to see lives changed – to a deeper faith in Jesus Christ, to a certainty of eternal hope, to the glory of living forever in God’s love. These devotional materials are gifts to the three churches Maureen Chung has served in church planting. These materials are her offerings to God upon His altar. God loves to read the primal letters from His children. He loves to hear the babbling of His toddlers learning to speak. Maureen Chung thanks and praises God first and foremost of all.

(Late Founder Pastor)
Pastor Rita Chang was the first church planting pastor of Metro Chinese Christian Mission. She was born in Malaysia. She immigrated to Canada in her youth and settled in Toronto. At the summer retreat of the Toronto Chinese Presbyterian Young Peoples’ Fellowship in 1975, she accepted Christ Jesus. Responding God’s calling, she entered the Ontario Bible College for training to serve God. She graduated in 1989. In 1993, she joined the church planting ministry of Metro Chinese Christian Mission, with particular concern for the grassroot people. In April 2004, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and received the operation to remove the entire stomach. Afterwards, she refused chemotherapy treatment, choosing to leave her life in God’s hands. In June 2005, the cancer metastasized, and she was given 6 months to live. On July 3, she shared her testimony from the Sunday pulpit, emphasizing on the eternal hope promised by Christ Jesus. A number of people were saved due to her testimony. Pastor Rita Chang passed into glory on December 10, 2005.
